Kadena High School held its inaugural PSAT Boot Camp and Course Planning Fair on October 7, 2025, offering a full day of academic preparation and future planning for students in grades 9 through 11.

The morning kicked off with four interactive PSAT Boot Camp sessions designed to equip students with tools and knowledge. Topics included:

  • The Importance of the PSAT and how it can benefit students’ academic and college planning journeys
  • Strategies for Success on the PSAT and how to access digital resources
  • Using the I.D.E.A. Strategy to support students in achieving their PSAT SMART Goals
  • Practice Questions and a Review Game to reinforce learning in a fun, engaging way

“The first portion was to prep them so they could set up their College Board accounts, which they should be familiar with because it’s used for all standardized tests – PSAT, ACT, SAT,” explained Dr. Jeffery Cherry, Assistant Principal at Kadena High School. “They learned that they’ll get their results directly through College Board, so they need to be able to access it.”

In the afternoon, students transitioned to the Course Planning Fair, where they explored academic pathways, elective options, and future course offerings. The fair provided an opportunity for students to make informed decisions about their academic schedules and long-term educational goals.
